Activated alumina powder is also called ρ-alumina powder because of its ρ-type crystal form. It is a form of alumina transition phase, and its main crystal phase is ρ-alumina-based. ρ-alumina is made of aluminum hydroxide by suspended roasting, rapid dehydration, and rapid cooling. Generally, the specific surface area is above 200㎡/g, so it has strong activity and water absorption performance, and has certain hydration activity.
Uses:
1. It can replace pure calcium aluminate cement as a binder for unshaped refractory castables, and can also replace silicon micropowder and ultrafine alumina powder for adhesives and binders of ## corundum products.
2. It can be used as an adsorbent and water absorbent, and can be formed and fired into activated alumina balls/strips, which are widely used in petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, health and other industries.
