BR-108A sulfur recovery catalyst is a highly active Claus and O2-removal protective bifunctional catalyst. The catalyst is mainly composed of a modified activated alumina carrier loaded with an appropriate amount of active metal salts. When there is O2-removal in the gas flow, O2 can be catalytically converted into SO2 (the conversion mechanism is as follows):
MSO4+2H2S→MS2+SO2+2H2O
MS2+O2→MSO4+SO2
Reduce the trace amount of O2 remaining in the Claus process gas to less than 10ppm to avoid or protect the Al2O3-based catalyst from sulfation poisoning.
